 Computer
Centre
Computer centre is the place from where we can
get all the facilities related to the
Information Technologies. Computer centre has
computer system with server (Proxy Server,
Domain Server, Database Server, Software Server,
Backup Server and ERP Server)
With due respect and importance to the IT
revolution and being a technological
institution, UIT has taken steps to equip its
students with all the advantages this revolution
has to offer. We have transformed UIT campus
into a wi-fi enabled e-campus.
The e-campus comprises internet, which remains
open for 24 hours and has been connected with 10
MBPS and is being facilitated and connected with
high speed and uninterrupted connectivity.
Pentium IV and PDC computers are operated as
workstations and a fully facilitated server from
top line brands are installed. Besides, the work
of this centre is under the control of Mr.
Devendra Singh Bhandari, System Administrator.
IT Facilities :
Server Room :
We have a set of 5 Xeon servers of IBM X3650 M3
Dual processor Rack Server, HP Proliant ML150
and ML110.
Computer Lab:
Computer lab, which has over 450 P-IV and Dual
Core machines with latest software tools, fully
net-live (with some sites firewalled). Students
spend most of the time apart from their
classroom training in the computer center to
enhance their knowledge and improve their
technical skills.
Computer Lab facilities:-
• MSDN Academic Alliance & Licensed software
like Visual Studio, Oracle 11g etc.
• Equipped with HP-Compaq machines & TFT
Monitors
• High speed Proliant and IBM x series rack
servers.
• Backed by hi-tech Online UPS.
• High quality Linksys and Dlink switches are
used.
• The facility is backed by a 100% power supply.
• Windows 7, XP, Linux and UNIX operating
systems are used.
a) Programming Lab: All latest Software
and Hardware are installed in the system used
for programming.
b) R & D Lab: Latest equipments used for
Research and Development are being installed so
that students can work on live projects.
c) Internet Lab: Lab is used to access
internet and download research work, this is to
motivate students for research and development
and for this they all have been provided with
user name and password to maintain security at
all times.
d) Web Technology Lab: Latest software
for building online Projects have been installed
to give the hands on experience to the students.
e) Graphics Lab: Lab is equipped with
Graphics workstations and Servers and all latest
softwares used for building animation based
projects, software like 3D Studio Max, Autocad,
Mat Lab, Adobe Software‘s etc have been
installed.
f) Communication Lab : The Language
laboratory has been designed in such a way that
a student can adopt the self placed study
without hesitation. Students seats are known as
the student workstations and a lab can
accommodate up to 30 students at a time. This
Lab is equipped with 30 multi media computers
along with a headphone. Students are provided
with all the facilities at their workstation.
Internet : A
dedicated leased line connection of 10 Mbps has
been installed to offer high speed internet
access on all the machines in the campus.
Wi-Fi Campus :
Wireless setup has been installed to offer high
speed 24x7 internet access in the campus. An
open learning atmosphere is promoted through the
use of a fully wi-fi enabled setup across the
campus. It also helps to maintain a wire free
campus area and access to secure internet to the
students as well as the faculty.
Firewall:
Firewall is used to block unauthorized access
while permitting authorized communications. It
is configured to permit or deny network
transmissions based upon a set of rules and
other criteria.
Printing Facilities:
Printing and scanning facility is also
available for students and faculty members
through our high speed printers and scanner.
Automation of the
Institute: The Institute has deployed
Software for Institutional Management (CCAS-Complete
college Automation System)
Amenities
UIT is an educational oasis located in the
pristine Doon Valley, the 8.044 acre campus
provides all the amenities of an urban campus.
This campus is meticulously planned. The
infrastructure aids in providing the best of
inputs for education and extra curricular
activities. The campus is well equipped with
academic block and administrative block.
The academic block
provides requirements of spacious Lecture Hall,
Laboratories, Computer Centre, Library and
Reading Room.
The administrative block houses Admission Cell,
Accounts Office, Counseling Room and the
offices of the Office Bearers.
The institute has built state-of-the-art
Workshop, Staff Rooms and Seminar Hall. Well
furnished boys & Girls Hostels with all amenities along with mess and 24X7 security provides a home
away from home. Further developments are in the
process of completion.
The students enjoy tranquil environment and
learning friendly ambience away from the humdrum
of the city noise. We have ensured that our
students have the privilege of attaining
knowledge in a pollution free environment.
The students have the freedom to pour over their
books over a hot cup of cappuccino in the campus
café or play a vigorous game of volleyball,
cricket or table tennis. We provide a hygienic
canteen within the campus.
Our lush green lawns, trees, landscapes,
imposing buildings create a wonderful mix of
splendour and simplicity. We aim to provide a
complete learning cycle to evolve best of minds.
UIT campus is an architectural delight. The
well designed series of imposing building;
beautifully landscaped lawns attract one and
all.
Our impressive amenities include the Cafe,
Restaurant, Music Room, Common Rooms for Boys
and Girls, Sports field, Internet, Transport,
etc.
Many of our students are actively involved in
drama, music and art. The annual cultural and
sports
festival "Seste" organized in the month of
April showcases student's talent.
If you fancy debating or just listening to
debates UIT debate society attracts a wide range
of speakers on the topics from the thought
provoking to hilarious. Every member no matter
how inexperienced can get involved and learn.
ATM Facilities
UIT maintains its account with Dena Bank. The
Bank has installed ATM facilities for the
students and staff on the campus. This
facilitates easy transfer of money at all times.
Hostel
Every effort is made at UIT
to provide home comforts. There are separate
hostels for boys & girls on-campus. The
hostel residents have access to well furnished
rooms, pollution free environment, Wi-Fi Campus,
restaurant, Coffee Shop, & ATM, RO filtered drinking water, and all such facilities required for comfort and relaxation of our scholars.
Mess
The spotlessly maintained and spacious dining
hall serves nutritious, hygienic, wholesome food, cooked with the help of unique cooking facility.
The
carefully tended gardens, the beautiful
landscape provide
an ideal environment for relaxation,
learning and concentrating on studies. Our carefully designed landscapes are
joy to behold.
Transport
Facilities
The institute also provides transport facility to the students living off the college campus. The three luxury buses owned by the institute ply on different routes in the city to pick and drop the students from various areas. Our students are spared the discomfort of commuting to the college by public transport.

Medical Assistance
Our Paramount responsibility is to care for the welfare and the health of our
students. For this purpose all students of UIT are covered under compulsory medical insurance by National Insurance Company Ltd. Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The students are entitled to following medical facilities:
1. Every student is insured for medi-claim (hospitalization expenses) for Rs. 25,000/- subject to terms and conditions of the policy.
2. The hospitalization claims of students within scope of policy coverage are facilitated through cash less facility at empanelled hospitals but the direct reimbursement facility is also available if the treatment is taken in non empanelled hospitals.
3. Insurance cover operates 24 hours even out of campus and at all places in India.
4. Nominated parents of student are covered against personnel accident insurance of Rs. 1 Lac (as per policy terms). To give umbrella security to the student against the accidental exigencies of death and permanent disability to his parents falling in the age group of 30 to 70 years. The amount is released to the students concerned to defray expenses to complete the course of study with the institute.
5. All students are provided with medical ID cards for facilitating free hospitalization services required to be presented by the student to the empanelled hospital along with college ID card at the time of admission.
6. The disease contracted prior to the date of entry of student in the scheme (pre-existing) and during first 30 days from the entry date are not covered by the policy except for injury sustained in Accident.
7. No out-patient treatment or the domiciliary treatment is covered in the policy.
