Academic Rules
:
(As per Uttarakhand
Technical University, Dehradun)
a.
Maximum Period allowed for completion of
degree :
B.Tech: 7 years from the date of
admission in the courses.
MBA: 4 years from the date of
admission in the course
students, who fail to complete their programmes in the maximum permissible
period, would stand terminated
automatically.
b. Attendance
Every student is required to attend all
the lectures, tutorials, practicals and
other prescribed curricular and
co-curricular activities. Attendance
can be condoned upto 25% on medical
grounds or for other genuine reasons
beyond the control of students. A
further relaxation of attendance upto
15% for a student can be given by Head
of the Institution/College provided that
he/she has been absent with prior
permission of the Head of the
Institution/College for the reasons
acceptable to him/her.
A
candidate shall be eligible for
provisional promotion to the next
academic year of study provided he/she
fails to satisfy above criteria in
attendance in not more than 4 theory
subject and 2 practical/project
subjects.
c.
Promotion Criteria
The minimum pass marks in each theory
subject (including sessional marks) shall
be 40% with minimum of 30% marks in each
theory paper in the end semester
examination. If there is no provision of
sessional marks in any subject, the
minimum pass marks in that subject shall
be 30% in the end semester examination.
The minimum pass marks in
project/practical subject (including
sessional marks if any) shall be 50%.
d. Grace Marks
i. Total 10 marks will be awarded as
grace marks to eligible students in a
year. A student will not be eligible for
grace marks if he/she has failed in more
than four subjects (Theory and
Practical) in a year.
ii.
Maximum of upto 5 marks in one subject
can be awarded as grace mark. Anybody
getting less than 50% marks in aggregate
will be treated as if he/she has failed
in that year. Grace marks will be
applicable only to students who can be
declared clear pass after awarding grace
marks.
iii. A student who has failed in
4 subjects but applying grace though
he/she will clear the papers, his/her
aggregate will remain less than 50%, no
grace will be allowed.
A student who has failed in 3 papers and
short in aggregate by 3 marks-grace may
be allowed if he/she clears all papers
along with aggregate. The grace marks
may be awarded simultaneously both in
subject and in aggregate with the
condition of maximum 10 marks.
Rules and
Regulations of the Institute :
1. All admissions are provisional.
2. A candidate is required to
produce the following documents duly
attested for admission to B.Tech/MBA :
i) Mark sheet and certificate of 10 &
10+2 Exam.
ii) Final Year mark sheet of Graduation
Examination (only for MBA)
iii) AIEEE Rank card/MAT score card for
B.Tech/MBA
iv) Address Proof
v) Character certificate from Head of
the Institution last attended.
vi) Domicile certificate
vii) Caste certificate
viii) Medical certificate
ix) Gap certificate
x) Passport size photograph-4 copies

Candidates not reporting for
admission at the stipulated date and
time shall forfeit their chance and the
offer of admission shall be given to the
candidate next in order of merit. No
correspondence in this regard shall be
entertained.
4. The college shall not be
responsible in any manner for the postal
delay/courier delays/destruction of
mail.
5. If after enrolment in the
institute a student does not attend
classes without leave for more than
seven days his/her name shall be struck
of the college rolls.
6. It shall be the responsibility
of all students to take note of all the
notices displayed on the Notice Board
for their information and compliance.
Failure to read the notices displayed on
the Notice board will not be accepted as
an excuse for non-compliance of
instructions.
7. Students shall have to abide
by the rules and regulations enforced
from time to time by the Institute/Uttarakhand
Technical University.
8. Uttaranchal Institute of
Technology is strictly a non-smoking
zone and consumption of any category of
alcohol, tobacco, pan masala, gutka and
drugs etc. is strictly prohibited.
Violation of code of conduct would
invite suspension.
9. Ragging or any Act that causes
mental and physical harassment to
another student will invite penal action
and offender is likely to be expelled
from the institute.

All disputes whether civil or criminal
arising from any action taken by the
college shall be subject to the
jurisdiction of DehraDun courts only.
